Position: Manufacturing & Design Engineer (Schaumburg, Illinois)
Duties: Will coordinate all elements and phases of metal stamping, mechanical clamp and tube fabrication for domestic and international strategic programs.  Will formulate international sourcing strategies and project management including estimating, product development, PPAP preparation, production start-up including full-production engineering and technical support.  Will develop program time lines and manage continuous improvement projects, resources and completion dates.  Will create engineering bills of material and manufacturing routings, manage control drawings and revisions within the organization’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) business software system.  Will estimate set up times and rates of production for each routing operational step including estimating labor costs, overhead costs and profit.  Will design product, tooling, fixture and gauges using 3D modeling software and FEA techniques.  Will directly interact with international customers, manage programs’ technical details and implement Asian sourced cost reduction programs.  Will prospect and develop strong international (Asia) suppliers through research, on-site evaluation, qualification and selection.
Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering  or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) as well as 5 years experience in Job Offered or 5 years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry OR, in the alternative, Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering and 2 years experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry.  Also requires experience with: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) in product and tooling design and FEA analysis using AutoCAD, Solid works or Pro-E in sheet metal and tube fabrication; DE in manufacturing process estimating and development of plant utilizing lean manufacturing techniques; DE developing supply chain networks in international markets through the analysis and optimization of resources – engineering collaboration, product design, logistics and supply chain management; DE coordinating international programs, technical evaluation and analysis of technical, sourcing and manufacturing capabilities and facilities of Asian partners and joint venture companies.
